Not to get too artistic over the matter, but there\u2019s a bunch of golden leaves, conkers, and pumpkin spice lattes kicking about outdoors right now \u2013 and it\u2019s inspiring hair dyeing. Sure, copper-toned hair is no \u2018new trend\u2019, but as colour technology advances each year, the shade selection expands (as does the vibrancy). With \u201cAmber Slate\u201d an upcoming trend for 2019 \u2013\u00a0as called out by Wella Hair Professionals\u00a0<\/a>\u2013 now\u2019s a great time to go all-out red.<\/p>\n

As for\u00a0maintenance; red pigment is sensitive to light (especially when it\u2019s coloured), so protect your locks from the sun where possible \u2013 probably not a problem right now, but crack out the bobble hat to shield from the winter sun, regardless. Water can dull your colour too, as well as over-treating with products, so ease off heavy shampooing. Try cutting down to two washes a week, and finish with a burst of icy water. Sure, it feels a little torturous, but will seal the cuticle to preserve your colour for longer. That\u2019ll wake you up in the morning.<\/p>\n
