We're not going to lie – it stings a tad, especially if you're new to it. The good news: it's only for a second – and we reckon you can handle it. Be prepared for some areas to be more sensitive than others, like the inside of your thighs. But over time, your hair follicles will weaken, which means less pain.
You'll have around two to three weeks of silky smooth skin before the hair starts to come back. Most guys leave six weeks between appointments as you need about 5mm of hair for the wax to work most effectively. As the hairs weaken, it'll grow back more slowly, too.
Due to the nature of waxing… not really, but it depends what part of the body you're there for. For a Brazilian you'll need to strip down to your socks, but obviously if you're just getting your eyebrows tidied you can keep all your clothes on. Wear something loose for a body wax so it's comfortable to put back on afterward.
Waxing is a short-term, no-strings-attached way to dip a grizzly toe in the world of hair removal. It leaves a smoother finish than shaving and, while laser hair removal does last longer, it's also a long-term commitment. Plus – we weren't lying. It really will grow back.
Wherever you wish. We've moved on from back, sack and crack (though it's still a really popular option). Brows too – waxing doesn't have to mean sharp, arched shape. It can just be a little tidy up. Those troublesome rogues, removed. But, as always, it's your bod – you do you.
