I tried a CACI facial and it was not at all what I expected

18th August 2020 • Editor's picks

I’m going to call it and say I’ve tried pretty much every facial treatment going. Largely because I’m curious, but also, it’s good to be able to offer advice to friends on what to try based on their skin concerns (once ‘less rosé’ has been ruled out). This time, we’re talking CACI facials – the treatment that uses microcurrents to stimulate facial muscles. The goal? Lift and tone my face for firmer-looking skin.

By Liz Hambleton

It’s a modern process

Turns out, CACI facials use some serious tech (I’d envisioned old-school equipment, for some reason). CACI synergy (the latest version) stimulated my facial muscles with metal prongs to deliver micro-currents beneath the skin. As it hit my skin I felt a twitching, tingling sensation, that was a little itchy after.

Not just to lift and tone

At the same time as giving my muscles a workout, my therapist used the machine to exfoliate my skin with ‘orbital microdermabrasion’. I also got a dose of LED to brighten and boost my skin tone too (always welcome). It’s a lot going on in one facial, but can’t complain about that bonus boost of glow.

But, I saw a definite lift

My jawline looked properly lifted, as did my brows. I left feeling like I’d got something out of the facial (which is ideal). CACI is a course-focused facial, and sadly, I’m not someone who can ever commit to a course time-wise (I’m more into intensive one-off treatments). If you can find the time, the results would be significant and long-lasting.

I tried an oxygen facial and my skin is *seriously* glowing August 18, 2020

There's nothing not to like It doesn’t hurt, it’s pretty relaxing and it ticks every skin box possible; deep-cleansing, hydrating and glow-giving. I don’t usually go for an ‘all-rounder’, but this felt like it did but more than just give my skin a temporary glow.   It made me feel squeaky clean A good deep cleanse is an important part of any oxygen facial, which is great for my oily/combination skin. It felt like it blasted through my pores to properly detox. Oxygen actually encourages the skin's own natural detox – preventing the build-up of toxins from our diet and…
