Top Rated is back for 2020

Treatwell launched Top Rated back in 2017 as a way to celebrate our salon and barber partners who go above and beyond to provide perfect experiences for their clients.

In a year where we truly felt the importance of that confidence-boosting haircut or therapeutic beauty treatment, there’s no better time to shout about and celebrate the businesses and individuals that help us all glow.

So, we’re very excited to announce the return of Top Rated.

How does a salon become Top Rated?

This year, we’re letting our partners’ clients do the talking. We’ll be counting up 5-star reviews left by clients — whether they booked through the Treatwell app or site, used a salon’s Book Now buttons or directly via Connect — to award the very best of the best.

If you’re a Treatwell partner and want to learn more on what it takes to become Top Rated and how to get there, or if you want to check whether you’re hitting the criteria, head to the Partner Help Centre.

Why are good reviews important?

When it comes to finding the right salon, the best hairdresser or nail artist, people want to hear about others’ experiences before making up their mind. Did you know that over 90% of bookings go to salons with 21 or more client reviews? That’s right – good reviews play a huge role in keeping those bookings coming in.

Positive reviews also help build a strong online reputation, and that’s important. Customers are looking for salons that go the extra mile to create a safe, hygienic environment – and seeing lots of 5-star reviews is the ultimate way to making clients feel confident when they’re booking you.

How to encourage your clients to leave great reviews

Whether you’re already a Treatwell partner or not, there are many things you could do to give your reviews a boost – here are some tips:

  • Provide quality service
This one’s a given, it all starts with providing a quality service. Meet your client’s expectations, and you’ll be well on your way to a 5-star rating.
  • Listen to your clients
It’s not always easy to meet expectations if you don’t know what they are. Make sure you and your team listen to your clients’ needs. Having a conversation to discuss what they expect before the appointment can increase your chances of getting an excellent review.
  • Be friendly and welcoming
Clients are more likely to enjoy their experience at your salon if you’re friendly and welcoming. Making them feel comfortable is especially important right now, so do your best to make them feel at ease. A smile goes a long way (even if it’s hiding behind a face mask).
  • Ask for a review in person
Tell them how much you’d appreciate a review after their appointment – a gentle nudge is always a good idea. However, don’t be pushy as this could discourage them or make them feel uncomfortable.
  • Make it easy
Leaving a review is quick and easy with Treatwell, and we send your clients review requests automatically right after their appointment.
